Finance Operations Manager – Business Partner - Italy and Spain en Madrid

Amazon seeks a Finance manager to lead and be part of our rapidly growing world-wide Finance Operations team. This position will be located in Madrid, Spain or Milan, Italy and will be the primary business point of contact partnering closely with in-country business and finance leadership. The key areas of responsibility will be to support and optimize the daily business, to drive new business integration, expansion projects and cost-out initiatives centered on reducing defects and eliminating waste, to lead improvements in Finance Operations necessary to generate free cash flow opportunities on behalf of the company.
The successful candidate will manage interaction with multiple business stakeholders (Buyers and Category Leads, Finance Director and accounting) Over time the candidate will be able to build an effective Team accommodating business growth. It will be imperative to engage with the operations teams primarily located in India and Slovakia.

The key areas of responsibility will include the following :
o Oversee a team of analysts based in our Shared Service Center in Slovakia to optimize Finance Operations processes
o Work from remote and closely collaborate with larger Europe Finance Operations team
o Partner with internal Business partners (e.g. Retail, Retail Finance etc ..), External business partners (suppliers, service providers and customers) and other finance teams to drive improvement activities, efficiency and decision support
o Drive the achievement of operational and financial objectives, identify the reasons of the variations and drive the definition of the solutions together with the business partners
o Be a key part of prioritization, objectives and organizational development to support the rapid growth and bring function to next level of business partnering and support
o Accountability for Finance Operations processes with focus on processes impacting the relationship with the business
o Initiate and lead business and operations reviews designed to identify expansion projects, changes in business trajectory, controllership and accounting risks
o Driving vendor and customer issues which require a business decision to resolve
o Develop project roadmaps and work with multiple teams to implement effective long-term solutions which optimize the productivity of the team as well that of the business partners Lead and build scalable processes to recruit, train and develop multi-lingual business professionals to support business expansion
o Lead monthly sub-ledger closing, coordinate accounting team in operational tasks and review reconciliation accounts
o Be a key contributor to the consolidated yearly Operating Plan, including global headcount forecasting and detailed analysis of budget to actual results on a monthly and quarterly basis
o Coordinate the monthly balance sheet and operations reviews with the Finance Operations VP, Business VP and Directors, and quarterly with the CFO

o M.A. , B.A. or B.S in Finance or Accounting, CPA or MBA preferred
o Fluency in both English and Spanish or Italian
o 8+ years of leadership experience, managing finance, accounting and operational processes
o Proven ability to influence finance and non-finance teams through a mixed set of finance skills (commercial finance, accounting, FP&A, audit, operations), preferably through international or overseas experience

Preferred qualifications:
o Solid experience working in or as strong (finance) business partnering environment, building out teams and demonstrated customer obsession and work ethic based on strong desire to exceed expectations
o Experience in commercial finance, retail finance, operations, logistics or the vendor/supplier finance are a preference
o Getting work done through others in an international, diverse, complex and high paced environment
o Effective communication and strong interpersonal skills; including written and oral communication
o Advanced presentation skills and the ability to guide and influence senior leadership
o Ability to work independently in a rapidly changing environment and ability to empower teams around you
o Exceptional business judgment capable of driving a diverse organization to the right results with a focused, pragmatic approach
o Advanced analytical skills and the ability to get into the details, while also seeing and understanding the big picture
o Experience with complex decision making and problem solving using Lean / Six Sigma techniques
o Ability to inspire others through setting strategic vision and direction within Finance Ops as well as with the Business and Finance teams we support
o Proven project management ability that shows how to organize, find solutions, and follow through to a successful conclusion, as well as transformation experience
o Ability to work independently, proven self-motivator and starter who can work remotely
