VMware is seeking a highly motivated individual to lead a team based in the Digital Sales Centre in Barcelona. The team is responsible for driving targeted demand generation activities, building highly qualified pipeline and transitioning ownership of this pipeline to the relevant sales team to close business. You will be responsible for working with functions such as sales, marketing, business intelligence and operations to build the right activities to deliver the pipeline.

This position requires excellent communication skills that result in meeting or exceeding the assigned qualified lead targets. You will need to interact with field sales, internal sales, marketing, partners, prospects and customers to maximize the total Customer Experience.

You will also develop the team with a relentless focus on high quality performance, balanced with an innovative approach to drive success.

Job Responsibilities & Key Objectives

  • Hire and develop a team of talented professionals and ensure they are motivated to succeed
  • Build a performance-centric culture to drive success metrics that are agreed with the business and Sales Director
  • Build demand generation plans to deliver qualified pipeline goals to the sales organization
  • Build enablement plans to develop individuals, ensuring career development opportunities are achievable
  • Manage and document lead cycles in VMware’s CRM system (SFDC)
  • Exceed assigned lead metric goals
  • Promote, develop and maintain in-depth knowledge of VMware products and services, industry trends, and competition
  • Work with sales operations to ensure reporting is in place to drive performance


Skills & Requirements

  • Experience leading and developing a team of sales development representatives
  • A persistent, self-starter with a track record for success
  • Experience building and running a sales development team
  • Technology or similar industry experience preferred
  • Management experience
  • Experience building and coaching sales teams
  • Ability to partner and lead individuals across different parts of the organization
  • Experience and success working within a lead quota, and MBO or commission structure
  • Proficient with standard corporate productivity tools (email, voicemail, MS Office
  • A basic understanding of computing technology and comfortable discussing technology with customers
  • Sales training, Salesforce.com experience a plus
  • College degree or equivalent work experience
