Vrbo.com Global Customer Experience Education department is looking for a Multimedia Learning Manager to supervise an international team of four direct reports. In this role, the Multimedia Learning Manager will focus on creative and innovative learning solutions that support the global learners’ experience. Topics will often include but not limited to systems training, personal development training, new features and overall operations. The role can be based either in Madrid or in Austin. As part of an international Team, online courses will be first developed in English. In this role, you will be reporting to the EU/APAC Training Manager.

We are looking for someone who’s digitally creative, resourceful, great at figuring out technical details, and who has affinity for delivering a great product on time and in an agile environment with an intentional bias to action.

What You’ll Do:
  • Day to day management of a team of multimedia design specialists (web, video, graphics, eLearning) – including forecasting, prioritisation and scheduling of all activities

  • Driving the quality and effectiveness of multimedia outputs and the efficiency and productivity of the multimedia team

  • Driving a ‘customer centric mindset’ placing both the Customer and Employee at the heart of all digital outputs

  • Management and development of a portfolio of digital learning assets across multiple business units

  • Maintain strong understanding of learning technology industry trends and best practices, and work with staff to evaluate emerging technologies, for potential inclusion into department technology roadmaps

  • Collaborate effectively with Global CE Education teams and internal stakeholders to provide an exceptional learning experience to our global learners

  • Ensure quality technical standards are met, including efficiency in development, proper version control, proper testing, and usable learning solutions

Who You Are:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Instructional Technology, Instructional Systems Design, or other related field.

  • 3+years of directly-related work experience and demonstrated experience in leadership role inclusive of 2+ years of direct supervisory responsibility. Candidates with less experience may be considered at a lower job grade and/or salary.

  • Deployment of digital learning interventions and assets to maximise efficiency of training delivery and effectiveness of learning content/programmes

  • Demonstration of ‘digital’ adding value to all forms of learning interventions

  • Rigorous, independent execution as well as ability to work cross functionally with stakeholders, on global and virtual teams and accommodate time differences

  • Bring a strong sense of personal accountability for project success

  • Thrive amongst ambiguity and change, including pivoting quickly when the business requires it

  • Knowledge of and skills in Learning Management Systems, course authoring tools, instructional technology, instructional design, and at least one of the following

    • webinar production and/or webinar software

    • audio and video editing tools

    • digital production

    • graphic design

    • Adobe Creative Suite

  • Strong written and oral communication skills

  • Collaborative work style and ability to establish and maintain strong relationships

  • Current on learning industry trends and best practices

  • Strong "people" skills and an ability to prioritize based on the needs of the business

  • Knowledge and deep understanding of adult learning theory and instructional design methodologies for classroom based, self-guided, and virtual training

  • Aptitude for technical topics, data, and reporting

  • Strong and validated experience in project planning and coordination

  • Fluency in English and in another European language

  • Travel ( 5%-10%)
