Job Summary:

The Spanish Publicity team is responsible for developing and implementing publicity campaigns within in Spain and works closely with the EMEA Publicity team.


The WDSMP + HE coordinator works within the Publicity team to develop and execute strategic public relations campaigns for all films released under the Walt Disney Pictures, Walt Disney Animation Studios, Disney•Pixar, Marvel Studios, Lucasfilm banners and Fox, as well as HE launches.

The PR person is responsible for helping secure positive, high quality coverage of the division’s products and franchises across all editorial media platforms including digital, broadcast and print.
This person also works in future planning the upcoming slate and works directly with external agencies when needed to support the strategy of any given title/event.

Responsibilities:

  1. Day to day Studio campaign implementation including:
    1. Responding to day-to-day requests and answer questions from media, other xLOB colleagues and general public/general press enquiries.
    2. Writing press releases, editorial copy and generic feature ideas.
    3. Pitching in talent access, news exclusive, press trips and selling in press office features and generic toolkits.
    4. Maintaining up to date press office processes and materials. To include
      1. Keeping image.net up to date e.g. ensuring press releases are added as soon as released and images are published.
      2. Undertaking press office in line with content calendar and global roll out embargoes and overall designated strategy.
      3. Launching trailers and other material following global guidance.
    5. Brainstorming and developing creative ideas to support campaign launches.
    6. Pitching appropriate journalists/influencers to travel to international junkets/events and making sure travel and accommodation for them is secured.
    7. Keeping abreast of competitor activity, communications trends and insights that impact the overall entertainment marketing.
    8. Developing and sharing knowledge of changing media landscapes including new contacts and changes in personnel at key media houses and targets.
    9. Building relationships with key entertainment and feature journalists as well as influencers.
    10. Liaison with key internal stakeholders on campaign plans including members of the EMEA/global publicity team.
    11. Organize, attend and host key media film screenings.
    12. Manage monitoring and evaluation of relevant press coverage.
    13. Collate and construct reports tracking media goals and achievements/offline publicity material use and information to be shared within the company and the ERO office.
    14. Work closely with Marketing colleagues to align strategy.
    15. Day to day liaison with agencies who are brought on board to support any given title
    16. Oversee specific campaigns for HE launches.

  1. Talent tour organization include:

  1. Manage digital, print and broadcast media during talent tours.
  2. Manage and implement publicity schedules for Talent tours.
  3. Manage logistics:
    1. arranging hair and make-up.
    2. organising travel and leisure requirements.
    3. on site artist liaison.
    4. Personal security and transportation.
  4. Think of new ways to maximize talent presence through out of the box ideas.
  5. Work closely with Digital team to provide them with access to talents.
  6. Summarize completed junket/event activity details for inclusion in overall junket wrap report for internal circulation.



  1. Event Organisation including:
    1. Implementation of in-house publicity events such as press events, media receptions, preview screenings, launch events, premieres, junkets etc. This could include:
      1. creation of running orders
      2. booking venues and catering
      3. organising suitable branding and/or venue dressing
      4. attendance
      5. Security
      6. Dealing with local Authorities for permissions
      7. Overseeing production agencies and materials
      8. Overseeing presence of possible sponsors through Partnership

Basic Qualifications:

  • A university degree in Journalism/Communications is preferred.
  • Strong written and verbal communications skills.
  • A professional telephone manner.
  • A keen interest in the media and film.
  • Experience with events and working with the media.
  • The ability to work on a range of tasks.
  • The ability to manage time effectively and prioritise tasks.
  • Excellent attention to detail and flexibility.
  • Being proactive and showing initiative.
  • Fluent English.
