DESCRIPTION

The Senior EHS Country Manager will be responsible for our Fulfillment Center (FCs) Spain in achieving their objectives in ensuring a safe and healthful working environment by identifying risks and unsafe practices, leading continuous improvement initiatives, and leading the EHS Managers of each FC. By leveraging Lean principles, Safety Policies, 5S Standards, participating in and overseeing Safety Kaizen efforts, and seeking to improve ergonomics and error-proof our processes to reduce risks, this position will assist Amazon in reaching our injury prevention and global regulatory compliance goals.

We are looking for a Senior EHS Country Manager (m/f) to join our team.

This role reports to the SEU Regional EHS Manager and will be based in one of our Fulfillment Centers in Spain.

As this is a SP based position, fluency Spanish language knowledge is required.
This position manages a group of EHS Managers who are located throughout Spain in our Fulfillment Centers. Working with general management, this position also will oversee SP Safety Policies and revise as needed based on known risks and improvement opportunities identified through best practices. Advocating for the needs of each site, this position will partner with the General Management in achieving a regional consistency around Safety and environmental execution, ensuring Amazon performs to all published Safety and Environmental standards. This position will maintain the SP Safety Policies, coordinate Safety initiates and develop the handbook for all Associates and operations leaders to successfully execute to safety and environmental performance standards.

Responsibilities include:
· Oversee SP safety performance metrics reporting and communication
· Assist general management in communication, training, and execution of the Safety & Environmental Programs throughout the Spanish FC’s
· Ensure compliance to spanish law as it applies to Life Safety for all FC’s
· Review the SP Safety Policies and revise as needed based on known risks and improvement opportunities identified through safety best practices
· Perform regular gap analysis to best justify funds for site safety improvements and react to Associate feedback
· Ensure compliance to Safety programs such as Lockout Takeout, Fall Protection, Fire Prevention, Emergency Procedures and Evacuation and other such programs for each FC
· Develop and implement training programs to meet the needs of Managers and Associates in regards to critical safety issues
· Develop and maintain ergonomics programs where needed
· Analyze accident data and build prevention programs to impact accident trends
· Build management and employee commitment for a Safety program through influence not authority
· Review Standard Operating Procedure changes and make Safety recommendations
· Conduct Job Hazard Analysis and Job Safety Analysis
· Interact with Workers Compensation third-party administrators in carrying out claims management
· Develop a positive working relationship with local Fire Department and other local authorities as needed
· Manage consistent and disciplined incident investigation and reporting
· Weekly metrics reporting to management teams
· Applying Lean tools to Safety: error-proof processes, analyze Safety trends and create proactive plans to address key risks, use Pareto analysis and other tools to monitor and drive high-effectiveness Safety programs

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

· Degree as Safety Engineer
· 5+ years experience as Safety Manager in operational environment
· Experience developing Safety and/or environmental policy, training, and quality assurance materials
· 5+ years of increasing responsibilities in Safety and/or environmental programs in manufacturing, production, or service operations
· Experience implementing Lean principles and process improvement in an operational environment.
· Willing to travel up to 30%

· Validated leadership skills in a high-production environment
· Forward thinking Manager with a high degree of customer service, thinking outside of the box and holding to company policies and goals
